HUDSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE CRAIG GUY DEDICATES THE HUDSON COUNTY PUBLIC TRAINING CENTER IN THE NAME AND MEMORY OF CONGRESSMAN WILLIAM J. “BILL” PASCRELL, JR.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County Executive Craig Guy and the Board of County Commissioners today hosted a special ceremony officially dedicating the Hudson County Public Safety Training Center in the name and honor of Congressman William J. “Bill” Pascrell, Jr., recognizing the late congressman’s lifelong commitment to supporting first responders and working families across New Jersey.

Bill Pascrell III, Congressman Rob Menendez (D-8), Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-9), Board of County Commissioners Chairman Anthony L. Romano, and Commissioner Bill O’Dea made remarks during the event. Family members, elected officials, law enforcement representatives, firefighters, and community leaders gathered to celebrate Congressman Pascrell’s legacy of public service and advocacy for police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel nationwide.

“Congressman Bill Pascrell dedicated his life to fighting for the people of New Jersey and was one of the greatest champions for first responders our nation has ever seen,” said Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive. “Naming the Hudson County Public Safety Training Center in his honor ensures that future generations will remember his commitment to protecting those who put their lives on the line every day for our communities.”

During his 14 terms in Congress, Pascrell authored landmark legislation supporting first responders, including the bipartisan Protecting America’s First Responders Act and the FIRE Act, which helped secure billions of dollars in federal funding for fire departments nationwide.

“On behalf of the Pascrell family, we are deeply honored by this recognition,” said Bill Pascrell, III. “My father believed deeply in standing up for firefighters, police officers, and all first responders, and he would have been incredibly proud to have this training center dedicated in his name. Our family is grateful to Hudson County for ensuring his legacy of public service lives on.”

The dedication ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the facility’s new name designation honoring Congressman Pascrell’s enduring impact on public safety and the State of New Jersey.
