AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 480-8-2018
PERTAINING TO PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT MEETINGS
OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, the participation of members of the public in the meetings of the Board of County Commissioners is an essential part of the democratic process; and
WHEREAS, this Board wishes to ensure the opportunity of participation to the public for all matters appearing on the agenda at the start of each meeting.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Hudson, that:
1.No item listed on a commissioner public meeting agenda may be tabled, carried, pulled, or withdrawn until the public has had an opportunity to comment or speak thereupon during the period designated for participation on Agenda items only.
2.Section 2.9 of the Hudson County Administrative Code is amended as indicated above.
3.The By-Laws of the Board of County Commissioners are amended so as to reflect the foregoing modification.
4.The Ordinance shall take effect in accordance with the law.
