Meeting Notice County of Hudson Public Hearing on Proposed 2026 Open Space Trust Fund Allocations

Please Take Notice: As required by the State of New Jersey in N.J.S.A. 40:12-15, et seq., the Hudson County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the proposed allocations of its Open Space Trust Fund for Funding Year 2026 on July 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., in the Commissioner Chambers, 567 Pavonia Avenue, 1st Floor, Jersey, City, New Jersey, at which time public comment will be taken.

In accordance with the N.J.S.A. 40:12-15.3(d), the County of Hudson is proposing the following funding allocations totaling $12,419,895 from the Hudson County Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust Fund for the Trust Fund’s 2026 funding cycle:

Parks and Recreation Improvement Projects totaling $10,319,895 as follows:
•City of Bayonne – $742,000 for Improvements to W. 24th Street Playground
•Borough of East Newark – $300,000 for Veterans Playground & Water Park
•Town of Guttenberg – $677,895 for Veteran’s Park Improvement Project
•Town of Harrison – $400,000 for William Street Public Park Project
•City of Hoboken – $700,000 for Church Square Park Phase II
•City of Hoboken – $300,000 for Stevens Park Improvement Project
•City of Jersey City – $750,000 for LaPointe Park Improvements
•City of Jersey City – $750,000 for Leonard Gordon Park Improvements Phase II
•City of Jersey City – $350,000 for Martyniak-Enright Park Improvements Ph 2
•City of Jersey City – $650,000 for Terrace Avenue Park Improvements
•Town of Kearny – $600,000 for Kearny Crew House Improvement Project
•Township of North Bergen – $650,000 for Stan Newman Field Improvements
•City of Union City – $750,000 for Ellsworth Park Improvements, Ph 2
•City of Union City – $750,000 for Turfing at Washington Little League Field
•Township of Weehawken – $600,000 for Jefferson Street Playground
•Town of West New York – $600,000 for West New York Recreation Center, Indoor Track
•Hudson County Parks – $750,000 for Lincoln Park Track Multi-Use Turf

Land Acquisition Projects totaling $1,350,000 as follows:
•Town of Secaucus – $1,350,000 for 236 Meadow Lane Acquisition Project

Historic Preservation Projects totaling $750,000 as follows:
•Hudson County Parks – $750,000 for Lincoln Park Historic Fountain Improvements

The anticipated commencement date for these proposed projects is on or about September 3, 2026. The anticipated completion date for these proposed projects is by or about September 2, 2028.
