PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF PENDING BOND ORDINANCE AND SUMMARY
The bond ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, on August 13, 2026. It will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to be held at the County Administration Annex, 567 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, First Floor, New Jersey 07306 on September 10, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. Information regarding remote access to the meeting may be found on the County’s website at https://www.hcnj.us/countycommissioners/2026-meeting-dates-and-agendas/. During the week prior to and up to and including the date of such meeting, copies of the full ordinance will be available at no cost and during regular business hours at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners for the members of the general public who shall request the same. The summary of the terms of such bond ordinance follows:
Title: BOND ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE MODERNIZATION OF AND GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HISTORIC WILLIAM J. BRENNAN COURTHOUSE BY AND IN THE COUNTY OF HUDSON, STATE OF NEW JERSEY; APPROPRIATING $45,044,332 THEREFOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $42,899,363 BONDS OR NOTES TO FINANCE PART OF THE COST THEREOF
Purpose(s):The bond ordinance provides for the modernization of and general improvements to the historic William J. Brennan Courthouse (the “Courthouse”), currently heated and cooled through a shared system with the County Administration Building which is scheduled to be demolished, including but not limited to, the design, construction, acquisition, and installation of a new independent heating and cooling system for the Courthouse, the undertaking of any other improvements and renovations, foreseen or unforeseen, which may become necessary or desirable in connection therewith, and all other work and materials necessary in connection with the modernization of the Courthouse, as more particularly described on a list on file with the Department of Finance and Administration
