Phase 1: Existing Condition Report and Public Engagement Guide Development<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hudson County\u2019s Planning Team is currently developing a series of existing condition reports, summarizing data trends, plans, policies and projects on the county level reflecting changes for the past ten years (2016-2026) – since the year of the last Re-Examination Report. Data would also include supporting information accompanied by partnering agencies including projects that affect Countywide residents, visitors and businesses.<\/p>\n

The Existing Condition Reports will comprise of seven distinct elements: Demographics,<\/em> Land Use, Transportation & Mobility, Environmental Resilience, Open Space, Economic Development, and Facilities & Infrastructure. <\/em>In addition to information and datasets specific to these elements; with the exception of the Demographics element, these elements will also contextualize the County in four various themes: Equity, Social Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Public Health. <\/em><\/p>\n

The Planning Team is also developing a Public Engagement Guide<\/em> that would serve as a framework for the Comprehensive Plan\u2019s engagement process and for future engagement with the public for County Projects.<\/p>\n

These documents will undergo various reviews and iterations from the Hudson County <\/strong>l Vision for the Future <\/em>Comprehensive Plan<\/strong> 2050\u2019s Steering Committee, <\/strong>which is comprised of individuals representing County Leadership; and the Plan Development\u2019s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) consisting of a multidisciplinary group of professionals representing various organizations and agencies.<\/p>\n

Hudson County Planning recognizes that a successful Comprehensive Plan consists of a robust Public Involvement component. This is why we have partnered with Rutgers University\u2019s School of Bloustein Planning Studio to develop and implement public engagement strategies, including public meetings, pop-ups, and other opportunities for your voice to be heard. By engaging students led by award-winning author, professor and professional urban planner, Dr. Faga<\/a>, the collaboration will ensure that hard-to-reach communities voices will be heard throughout the Comprehensive Planning process.<\/p>\n

Phase 3: Findings, Trends and Recommendations<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hudson County Planning will then synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and trends from the previous phases – \u00a0including the Existing Condition Reports and the Public Involvement process – \u00a0to develop a set of objectives, goals and recommendations. A draft set of objectives, goals and recommendations will first be reviewed by the Steering Committee and TAC and then be available for public review and comments, prior to its final approval.<\/p>\n

Phase 4: Draft and Final Plan Development<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During this phase, Hudson County Planning will be hard at work compiling all the data, findings, and recommendations from the previous phases into a final draft, which again will be available for your review prior to its finalization.<\/p>\n

The final \u00a0Hudson County <\/strong>l Vision for the Future <\/em>Comprehensive Plan<\/strong> 2050 <\/strong>will then be formally introduced to the Hudson County Planning Board and then the Board of County Commissioners for endorsement and adoption.<\/p>\n
