Jersey City-<\/strong>The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the County of Hudson to apply for $701,000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway grant program for improvements to River Road.  This will promote bicycling as an alternate mode of transportation in Hudson County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The needed upgrades would ensure cyclists safety on River Road (County Road-505) between Anthony DeFino Way\/ Port Imperial Blvd and Bulls Ferry Road in the Townships of West New York, Guttenberg and North Bergen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri, Freeholder Caridad Rodriguez and the rest of the Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed in their resolve to make North Bergen, West New York and Guttenberg a safe place for bicyclist, pedestrians and motorist.  The improvements will serve as a safer bikeway connection to access neighboring public facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
