Jersey City-<\/strong>The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved $203,963 from the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services Grant to address opioid use disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds will be utilized to help Hudson County municipalities address the issues surrounding opioid use disorder and drug abuse in their communities.  These funds will also be used to provide prevention, education, intervention and addiction treatment services to the residents of Hudson County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds are allocated as follows: Prevention, education, outreach to doctors, dentists and general practitioners \u2013 Partners in Prevention $33,765, Sober activities for youth: social\/recreational activities for youth ages 10 and older \u2013 Partners in prevention- $45,000, Recovery supports: support\/outreach\/education, Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services \u201cSTARS\u201d Mobile Outreach Vehicle \u2013 $55,000, Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services Administration -$10,000, $60,000 is unallocated at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program will run from August 15, 2020 through August 15, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Hudson County Board of Freeholders are committed to provide funds that will be used towards the reduction of opioid use by connecting individuals with opioid use disorder to medication assisted treatment and supporting individuals on a path to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
