Jersey City-<\/strong>The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the application and acceptance of funds, if awarded, from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Disability, and Hudson Services Inclusive Healthy Communities Grant Program totaling $587,460.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds will be utilized by the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services to help promote inclusive practices, systems and environments that support individuals with disabilities in the communities where they live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grant will focus on three mutually reinforcing, specific objectives and with the broad focus on all people with disabilities, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, immigration status and income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will adopt processes that are inclusive of people with disabilities as part of efforts to plan and create healthy communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will plan and implement lasting strategies that deliver the benefits of healthy communities to people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will also use advance sustainable practice, systems and environmental change that address the pre-existing physical, environmental, social and economic challenges that prevent people with disabilities from having full access to the conditions that support health and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grant period will be from January 11, 2021 to June 30, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Hudson County Board of Freeholders are committed to addressing and providing the necessary resources to disabled individuals in need of assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
