Home Investment Partnerships Program “HOME”

The HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) provides federal formula grants to states and local units of government that are used to fund a wide range of affordable housing activities including development of affordable housing for rent or for sale, homeowner rehabilitation, and temporary rental assistance. Due to limited annual funding, the Hudson County Division of Housing and Community Development only funds development of affordable housing projects and does not provide direct assistance to individual households. Eligible projects include single family homes, two-family homes, condominiums/co-ops, and multifamily buildings. Affordable housing projects must be located in Bayonne, East Newark, Guttenberg, Harrison, Hoboken, Kearny, North Bergen, Secaucus, Union City, Weehawken, or West New York. Applications for funding are accepted on a rolling basis given the availability of HOME funds to commit. Please contact the Division to discuss the proposed project and obtain an electronic application invitation.
