Emergency Assistance Program
The Office of Social Services has various funding available to assist county residents who may be experiencing a housing emergency. Our department’s goal is to expand current services for emergency assistance in providing direct financial assistance and services for those deemed eligible for TANF/ GA/ SSI/ SSH and Reunification funding. Those deemed eligible and in need will receive the appropriate support and services. We are dedicated in strengthening the transition to the re-entry population by providing direct access to immediate shelters and permanent affordable housing.
If you are homeless or facing imminent homelessness we may be able to help with:
- Emergency Assistance (EA) is provided to WFNJ/TANF/ GA and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients on a as needed basis. Assistance includes emergency allowance for food, clothing, furniture, utility, storage, shelter placement, security deposit and or back rent. Temporary rental assistance may be authorized in order to resolve imminent or actual homelessness.
