A Vision for the future

The Hudson County l Vision for the Future 2050 Comprehensive Plan, managed by the Division of Planning, serves as the County’s guide for smart long-term growth to communicate our shared vision and goals on where and how the county can progress. The 2050 Comprehensive Plan illustrates how Hudson County’s programs, policies and projects align with the communities’ image for the future in the context of an equitable, resilient and healthy framework to strengthen its local and regional economic, cultural, social and environmental vibrancy. In an ever-changing dynamic, The Plan ultimately provides a planning to implementation roadmap for development and preservation, in Hudson County.

A comprehensive plan—commonly known in the State of New Jersey as a master plan—is a thorough guide to development and development regulations for a county or municipality, and are adopted by county or municipal planning boards pursuant to the Municipal Land Use Law (N.J.S.A 40:55D-28) and the County Planning Act (N.J.S.A 40:27-1 et seq.).

Hudson County Planning is in the process of developing The Hudson County l Vision for the Future 2050 Comprehensive Plan. This plan will follow and replace the 2002 Hudson County Master Plan, and its 2008 and 2016 Hudson County Master Plan Re-Examination Reports.
