Office of Veterans Affairs
Department of Health & Human Services Office of Veterans’ Interments The Office of Veterans’ Interments provides information, assistance and referral services to veterans residing in Hudson County in order to improve their quality of life and insures that indigent deceased veterans receive a proper and dignified burial. The Office also coordinates recognition events to acknowledge and display the County’s appreciation for the service of veterans to this county and focuses on issues such as veteran homelessness and the problems associated with transitioning back to civilian life.
The Hudson County Stakeholders Meetings are convened quarterly which pairs veterans with service providers. Through these meetings a veteran email chain was established where every employment opening, educational opportunity and anything veteran-specific is blasted each day. Also, through these meetings, the Veterans Unmet Needs Fund was established, which helps veterans with emergency expenses where no other funding source can be found.
Our newest initiatives are centered around preventing veteran suicide through seminars offered at faith-based institutions. All are welcome to join.
