DIVISION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES
The Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services works closely with the State Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to oversee the provision of prevention, education, early intervention, treatment services, and recovery support services for residents in need of mental health and/or addiction services. The Municipal Alliance is also included in this mission.

OPIOID SETTLEMENT SURVEY

The Hudson County Opioid Settlement Advisory Council has been established to provide input, advice, and recommendations regarding National Opioid Settlement funds that have been distributed in response to the National Opioid Litigation. The Council is distributing this survey to determine where funds should be directed and how to best mitigate the devastating effects of the opioid epidemic. Your thoughts, experience, and expertise are vital to ensuring that individuals and families impacted by the epidemic receive the resources, support, and education they need and deserve.

Family Service Bureau of Newark provides outpatient substance use treatment for adults. Call 201-246-8077 for additional information.

New Hope Integrated Behavioral Health Care provides halfway house substance use treatment, short-term residential substance use treatment services for both youth and adults and withdrawal management services. Call 732-946-3030 for additional information.

Partners in Prevention provides prevention, education and early intervention services for seniors and young adults. They also provide prevention, education and early intervention services for vaping and prevention, education and early intervention for substance use/mental health for youth. RWJBH Behavioral Health, Prevention and Recovery, Inc. provides family support, outreach and education for substance use. Call 833-233-4377 for additional information.
REACHNJ is New Jersey’s 24/7 addiction helpline that offers a wealth of support and information on substance use.

NJ Connect for Recovery is a helpline for family and friends that provides support to family members and friends coping with a loved one’s substance use disorder.

THE PEER RECOVERY WARM LINE
The Peer Recovery Warm Line is telephone support provided by peers to help mental health consumers as they work towards recovery.

NJ DIVISION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES

The Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) within the New Jersey Department of Human Services (NJDHS), houses a highly specialized mental health Disaster and Terrorism Branch (DTB). The Branch is responsible for administering as well as directly providing emergency response behavioral health programs to assist the citizens of New Jersey.

NJMentalHealthCares is New Jersey’s behavioral health information and referral service. Their staff of behavioral care specialists use experience and understanding of the behavioral health system to provide emotional support for issues related to COVID-19 and other mental concerns.

NAMI New Jersey (NAMI NJ) is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through education, support, advocacy and public awareness programs NAMI NJ fosters understanding about mental illness, confronts stigma often associated with mental disorders, advocates for public policies that benefit those affected by mental illness, and promotes research into the causes, treatment, and recovery of mental health disorders.
