Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved accepting a $3,599,291 grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Work Force Development of the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult and Dislocated Workers, Workforce Learning Link and Youth Programs.
The County of Hudson, the City of Jersey City, Jersey City Employment and Training Program, the Career Development Center of the Hudson County Schools of Technology and both the Hudson County and Jersey City Workforce Development Boards have a shared services agreement to provide individuals continued or enhance their employability through basic education skills training and job search/readiness services.
The grant will be allocated as follows: adult program-$1,233,999 dislocated worker-$1,098,063, Workforce Learning Link- $71,000, Youth Program- $1,196, 229, totaling $3,599,291.
The grant is for fiscal year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
Hudson County Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed in their resolve in providing the necessary training resources needed to assist both Jersey City and county residents in obtaining proper training and maintaining gainful employment.
