Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the County of Hudson to award $2,089,371 from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Emergency Solutions Grant to Collaborative Support Programs of NJ, $125,000, Garden State Episcopal Community Development Corporation, $877,717, United Way of Hudson County, $877,717, Hudson County, $208,937 in order for them to provide rapid rehousing, various programs and services to homeless in Hudson County.

The purpose of this rapid rehousing program is to provide rental assistance to house at least 50 individuals and or families for up to two years.  In order to be eligible, these individuals will be literally homeless, moving from streets, shelters or motel placements and able to sustain the housing after the assistance ends.  Households will receive support services to help move them to self- sufficiency.

This program will also help to provide services that include medical care, essential support services and social services programs for the homeless in Hudson County.

Chairman Anthony Vainieri, the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the County of Hudson are committed to providing the necessary support and social services to assist the homeless of Hudson County.
