The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the Hudson County Sheriff to accept $49,500 from the 2019 Distracted Driving Crackdown U Drive U Text U Pay Grant.
The Distracted Driving Crackdown U Drive Text U Pay grant funds will cover overtime salaries for Hudson County Sheriff Officers that maybe working the detail.
The project is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of texting, using a cell phone or smartphone while driving and to offer deterrence through visible enforcement throughout Hudson County.
Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed to raising awareness about the dangers of texting, using a cell phone or smartphone. This will show deterrence with the use of visible enforcement throughout Hudson County.
