Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Freeholders authorized the acceptance of $93,750 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs through the Institute for Intergovernmental Research under Building Bridges between Jails and Community-Based Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder Demonstration Project.

The funds will help provide support and services of a Navigator. This will ensure therapeutic treatment for individuals and allow case managers to assess their progress at Hudson County outreach centers, judiciary, and shelter networks.

The program will run from March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021.

Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Board of Freeholders are committed to providing the necessary resources needed to provide treatment, education and prevention of the effects of drug abuse to the residents of Hudson County.
