Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Freeholders authorized the application and acceptance of $245,541 of funding, if awarded, from the Hudson County Ambulatory Tuberculosis Program through the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and Tuberculosis (TB) Services.

The grant will be utilized to support the Ambulatory Chest Clinic, physician services, nurses’ services, mantoux tuberculin testing, x-ray services, dispensing of anti-TB medications and related services.

On-site specialized care is provided by physicians and a pediatric nurse practitioner skilled in the area of Tuberculosis patient care.  In addition, specialized nursing care management services and community outreach services are provided to Hudson County residents and local school districts. The goal is to focus on the early detection, intervention, prevention of the disease and spread of the disease.

The grant term is from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Board of Chosen Freeholders are dedicated to meeting the needs of the local community by providing healthcare to county residents who cannot afford the cost.  These services are especially essential to our residents who are sick and need instant medical care. The residents of Hudson County are our top priority when it comes to medical care.
