Hudson County– The Hudson County Board of Freeholders honored, commended and applauded the dedicated service of K-9 Tahoe of the Sheriff’s Department upon his demise.
The County through the Sheriff’s Office has been advised that one of their retired K-9’s, known as “K-9 Tahoe” has passed away.
K-9 Tahoe was a 12.5 years old German Shepard trained in explosive detection and patrol. K-9 Tahoe began his career in October 2009, training with Holmdel-Scotch Plains Canine Academy, graduating in May of 2010. K-9 Tahoe also graduated from the New Jersey State Police K-9 Academy in June of 2010 and was a part of the Render Safe Task Force. K-9 Tahoe and his handler assisted in numerous explosive sweeps and patrol related K-9 functions throughout his career.
K-9 Tahoe served the residents of Hudson County and the State of New Jersey for eleven years and will be greatly missed.
Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders extended its highest commendations to K-9 Tahoe for his tireless dedication and service to the citizens of Hudson County. The Board also expresses its deepest sympathies to K-9 Tahoe’s handler and members of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department for their loss.
