Hudson County- The Hudson County Freeholders Congratulate, Honor, and Commend the student team from Christa McAuliffe School, (Public School #28), in Jersey City on their extraordinary results at this year’s Lexus Eco Land and Water Challenge.

The Lexus Eco Challenge is a national STEM competition for students’ grades 6-12 that awards a total of $500,000 in grants and scholarships to eligible teachers, students and schools each year. Featuring three separate challenges, the Lexus Eco Challenge gets students involved in project-based learning, teamwork and skill building as they identify an environmental issue that affects their community, use their critical thinking and research skills to come up with a solution, and report on the results by way of an Action Plan. Led by Teacher Advisors at their schools, the student teams work to help their community while getting a chance to compete for scholarships and grants.
