Jersey City-The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the County of Hudson to apply for $701,000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway grant program for improvements to River Road. This will promote bicycling as an alternate mode of transportation in Hudson County.
The needed upgrades would ensure cyclists safety on River Road (County Road-505) between Anthony DeFino Way/ Port Imperial Blvd and Bulls Ferry Road in the Townships of West New York, Guttenberg and North Bergen.
Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri, Freeholder Caridad Rodriguez and the rest of the Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed in their resolve to make North Bergen, West New York and Guttenberg a safe place for bicyclist, pedestrians and motorist. The improvements will serve as a safer bikeway connection to access neighboring public facilities.
