An alumna of Emerson High School, she went on to graduate from Seton Hall University with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Diplomacy and International Relations. Born in Honduras, Fanny came to the United States with her parents at the age of two, inspired by the pursuit of the American Dream.
County Commissioner Cedeño began her public service career by volunteering with a non-profit organization dedicated to immigration assistance. Currently, she manages constituent relations for the Union City Mayor’s Office, making it a priority to serve her community. Appointed to the Hudson County Board of County Commissioners in January 2020 to represent District 6, she succeeded Commissioner Tilo E. Rivas and is now serving her second term.
On the Board, County Commissioner Cedeño serves as Chair to the County Government Oversight & Policy Review Committee and contributes to serveral committees, including those for Senior Citizens, the Task Force on Homelessness, Economic Development and Housing, and Women and Minority Affairs. Additionally, she is a representative on the Hudson County Open Space Advisory Board and an alternate for NJAC.
