Robert P. Baselice was sworn in to fill an unexpired term of the Hudson County Commissioner seat of the 8^th District, representing North Bergen and a part of Secaucus on April 19, 2023. Commissioner Baselice won his first term in November 2023.

 Robert was born in Jersey City and is a lifelong resident of North Bergen. He attended John F. Kennedy Grammar School and St. Peter’s Preparatory High School. He is a Rutgers graduate with a degree in mathematics and is a State Qualified Purchasing Agent. Commissioner Baselice is a strong Democrat and was a Democratic Committeeman for over 20 years following in the footsteps of his parents. He is currently the Executive Director of the North Bergen Parking Authority, previously served as the Chairman on the North Bergen Planning Board and until becoming Commissioner, was the Chief of Staff to the Hudson County Sheriff.

 Commissioner Baselice’s passion is public service. After graduating from college, he started as the Assistant Human Services Administrator in the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services budgeting and planning for human services programs for County residents. He was promoted to Youth Services Coordinator and used his experience and skills to leverage County dollars to apply for grants for at-risk and youth programs. He held many board positions for assisting youth and was proud to be named twice the chairperson of the NJ Association of County Youth Service Administrators. In his capacity as the Association Chair, Robert was able to work on the Committee to Reinvent the Juvenile Justice System which created the NJ Juvenile Justice Commission. He was also appointed to and continues to serve as a member of the NJ Governors Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Committee, a committee which plans for youth programs in NJ and brought a national conference focusing on NJ youth programs to Hudson County.

 Robert is the son of Francesca and the late Harry Baselice and brother to Adrienne. He is married to his beautiful wife Claudia, a North Bergen School Board member, and is the proud father of Evian and Gianna.

 His family values, education, and public service have prepared him with the experience, knowledge and ability to best serve as the Hudson County Commissioner of the 8th District. Commissioner Baselice is proud and looks forward to continuing to represent the residents of North Bergen, Secaucus, and Hudson County.

 On the Board, County Commissioner Bob Baselice serves as the Chairman of the Finance, Budget and Administration Committee, Transportation Committee, and as Liaison to the Hudson County Schools of Technology, Technology/MIS, Hudson County Improvement Authority Alternate. He also serves on the following committees: Contracts, County Banking, Ethics, Public Safety and Public Resources.
