On or before December 15, 2023, the County of Hudson will submit an application to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation, for funding through the Resilient Communities Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2023 in the amount of approximately $5,000,000. Funding for the Resilient Communities Program is provided through HUD’s Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program, as appropriated by Congress. The proposed project will be made possible by CDBG-DR funding and will include improvements to the existing Penhorn Creek pump, installation of a trash rack, and improvements to the existing culverts. The project will be located at the Penhorn Creek Pump Station in Jersey City, New Jersey (Block 3101, Lot 28).
A public hearing for the project will be held virtually on Tuesday, Nov 28th at 4 pm EST, please see below for the meeting link. Public comments on the aforementioned application must be submitted to the County by December 12, 2023. A copy of the application can be obtained by contacting Thomas Malavasi tmalavasi@hcnj.us.
