UNION CITY, NJ — Today, Hudson County Executive Craig Guy hosted a Hudson County Community Resource Fair at Union City High School with Union City Mayor Brian Stack, Commissioner Fanny Cedeño and Representative Rob Menendez (N.J.-08).

Residents of Union City had access to over a dozen resource tables that directly provided critical resources and services with translators available for all Spanish-speaking citizens. The resources and services included information regarding programs and grant opportunities available to small businesses in the area, senior citizens services, and vaccinations administered by Hudson Regional Health. Rep. Menendez’s office was available to assist constituents with immigration and passport casework.

“Bringing these resources and services to the citizens that need them is essential to ensure Union City’s community receives the necessary care and information they need to live full, happy lives here in Hudson County,” said County Executive Guy. “I’m proud to have worked with Mayor Stack, Commissioner Cedeño and Rep. Menendez to bring together all the municipal, County, and federal resources available to them in a relaxed and convenient atmosphere.”

The Hudson County Community Resource Fairs are one of the many initiatives County Executive Guy and the County Board of Commissioners have undertaken to meet residents where they are, in their communities, while drawing together services and County departments in one place to directly service the people and families that need them. The Union City Community Resource Fair is the third installment of these events, the previous two were held in Bayonne and Kearny.

“Working together with Hudson County, we were able to bring vital services, information, and outreach to Union City,” said Mayor of Union City, Brian Stack. “I had a great time meeting with Union City residents and enjoyed providing meaningful support to our community.”

“It is of utmost importance to gather the many resources the communities in our County, especially those in Union City, need to thrive, and provide them with immediate access to those services. It was an amazing opportunity to speak and interact with the families and community members at our Union City Community Resource Fair, and ensure they received the assistance they needed from Hudson County’s host of supportive resources,” said Fanny Cedeño, Hudson County Commissioner for District 6.

“The Union City Resource Fair connects and delivers dozens of County and City assistance programs and services immediately to the community. With our community leaders and representatives on the ground, constituents are able to receive the assistance they require with economic relief, immigration, food assistance, and senior services among others,” said Representative Rob Menendez (N.J.-08). “I’m proud to have worked with County Executive Guy, Mayor Stack, Commissioner Cedeño, and their teams to bring these resources together for Union City’s citizens and families.”

Community Resource Fairs will be coming to all 12 municipalities in the County, and the upcoming Resource Fair will be held in Jersey City.
