JERSEY CITY, NJ — Today, Hudson County Executive Craig Guy released the following statement calling on the Board of County Commissioners to be partners in supporting a resolution to establish a Mental Health Court in Hudson County:
“Since day one, my administration has been wholeheartedly focused on service and making sure all residents know about and have access to the services Hudson County provides for all communities,” said Hudson County Executive, Craig Guy. “This resolution affirms that commitment by prioritizing mental health within our courts system through the classification of this Mental Health Court as a special needs voluntary program. I’ve spoken to the County Prosecutor’s Office who expresses their support for this resolution.”
The Mental Health Court would operate in partnership with the Hudson County Prosecutors Office, the Superior Court, the Office of the Public Defender, the Hudson County Department of Family Services and Reintegration and Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has expressed its full support of a Mental Health Court in Hudson County.
