Hudson County Emergency Rental Assistance 2 Program

Hudson County residents that meet the eligibility requirements can apply for rental assistance from the County’s program at the link below, with the exception of Jersey City residents. Jersey City is administering assistance directly.

If you are a Jersey City resident, you can find additional details on eligibility and a link to apply here. The application is officially closed, but the City is still accepting inquiries.

NJ-DCA COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The CVERAP2/Eviction Protection Program Portal is currently closed as funding has been fully obligated. If you have submitted a pre-application for CVERAP2/EPP prior to the closing of the waiting list and are contacted by DCA, please follow the application instructions you are given. If you have not previously submitted a pre-application and are in need of help in paying rent arrears or future rental assistance, you may submit a pre-application here to be considered, in the future, if DCA receives additional funds.

Jersey City COVID-19 Hardship Assistance Program

United Way of Hudson County is currently administering an eviction assistance program for Jersey City residents. Please see flyers in English and Spanish for eligibility criteria and contact information.

North Hudson Community Action COVID Rental Assistance

Residents of the North Hudson Area (West New York, North Bergen, Weehawken, Union City, Guttenberg, Harrison, Kearny and East Newark) who have fallen behind on their rent due to COVID-19 and are at risk of eviction can apply to the North Hudson COVID Rental Assistance Program. Other Back Rent Assistance Resources

If you have fallen behind on your rent for a reason other than COVID-19, these agencies may be able to help. Please note, for many of these programs you will have to be able to show that you can pay your rent or utilities moving forward.

These resources can assist specifically with utility payments. Aside from the BEOF, these organizations do not provide rental assistance.
