AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 200, ARTICLE 17, OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE TO ESTABLISH A REGULATION FOR ONE LOADING ZONE ON HUDSON STREET BETWEEN 2ND STREET AND 3RD STREET
IN THE CITY OF HOBOKEN

BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Hudson, as follows:

1. Chapter 200 of the Hudson County Administrative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION I
This Ordinance is enacted in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.46, which does confer upon the County of Hudson the right to establish certain regulations in order to preserve and safeguard the public health, safety, morals and welfare.

SECTION II
The County Engineer and the City of Hoboken have reviewed the request and have no objections to the loading zone.

SECTION III
The loading zone shall be utilized only by vehicles servicing businesses and residents in this vicinity for loading and unloading purposes for a time limit of 20 minutes for Hudson Street.

SECTION IV
The loading zone on Hudson Street shall be in effect from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. Monday to Friday.

SECTION V
The loading zone shall be established at the following locations:

  • Hudson Street – east side, beginning at a point 102 feet north of the northern curbline of 2nd Street and extending 40 feet northerly therefrom.

2. Proper regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained to effect the above designated areas as set forth in the current “Manual on Uniform traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways” and maintained thereafter.

3. The penalty for violation of this ordinance shall be as provided in Chapter 200 and/or New Jersey State Statutes, whichever were applicable.

4. This ordinance shall take effect after the installation of signs and final passage, as required by law.

Public Hearing on the above ordinance will be held at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Hudson on February 12, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Assembly Chamber, first floor, Hudson County Administration Annex, 567 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey.
