Older American Act funding is broken down into the following service categories:

Adult Protective Services

Investigates reports of suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults living in the community.

State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) 

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about their health insurance.

Nutrition Support Services

Programs designed to provide healthy meals and eating habits for senior citizens.

  5. Nutrition Counseling

Eligibility 

Under the Older Americans Act, an individual qualifies for services if they are:

  • 60 years of age or older
  • Adult, family caregivers that are providing assistance to an individual 60 years of age or older
