HUDSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE CRAIG GUY ISSUES STATEMENT
REGARDING ORDINANCE TO FINANCE AND DEVELOP
LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER HIGH SCHOOL

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County Executive Craig Guy issued the following statement regarding an ordinance to be introduced today by the Hudson County Board of Commissioners which would authorize the County to enter into an agreement with the Hudson County Improvement Authority to develop Liberty Science Center High School and to enter into an agreement with the Hudson County Schools of Technology (HCST) to provide educational services for Hudson County students who will attend the school:

“Since Day One as County Executive, I have made opportunity and service the hallmarks of my Administration. In keeping with this, I am elated that today we are taking a crucial step toward making Liberty Science Center High School a reality.

“I sincerely thank Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop for his role in advancing this important project from the drawing board to its next critical stage. Liberty Science Center High School and the current HCST campuses will provide a world-class educational experience for the young people of Jersey City and all of Hudson County.

“I also thank the Hudson County Board of Commissioners for taking up this ordinance. We share an obligation to provide transformative educational options that will propel our students to meet the weighty challenges of the future. Not only will Liberty Science Center High School be a temple of learning; it will be built under a Project Labor Agreement and will be constructed by union tradesmen and women who will do the job precisely and efficiently.”
