Attorney Visits 

 

All visits for professionals, including onsite visits, have resumed. Visits must be scheduled through the GTL VisitMe  website https://hudsoncountynj.gtlvisitme.com

Attorney Video Visitation

Once you have registered, you must email Deputy Director Murrell at smurrell@hcnj.us with your Bar# and the State in which you practice for verification and approval.

***Attorneys must present valid credentials that can be cross-referenced with an American Bar Association publication to confirm their status as an attorney***

Attorney Instructions:

Please be advised beginning Monday July 13, 2020 we will be allowing attorneys a 45 minute visit on-site.

All attorneys must pre-register prior to coming to the facility. ABSOLUTELY NO WALK INS. 

Professional visiting rooms 110, 111, 112, and 113 have been modified to accommodate social distancing regulations.

Attorneys and their representatives are permitted to meet their inmates clients from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week.

There are brief periods during which access is restricted for administrative reasons.

Access restrictions usually occur: 12:30 pm-3:00 pm.

There will be times when access may be restricted without prior notice due to emergencies and operational needs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Attorneys and official visitors must be dressed in court attire.
  • Attorneys and their representatives may visit inmate clients solely for the purpose of conducting legal business.
  • Attorneys or their representatives requesting any special consideration shall immediately be referred to the area supervisor.
  • Electronic equipment of any kind, i.e., tape recorders, cameras, IPads, etc., must be approved in advance. Otherwise, such equipment will not be allowed during the visit.
  • Attorneys and their representatives may not give an inmate any discs or blank papers.

***No inmate is allowed to act as an interpreter for another inmate during a professional visit. Visits between attorneys or their representative and inmate shall not be subject to auditory supervision, but department personnel may be positioned to maintain visual surveillance***

Search of Attorneys and Representatives

  • Attorneys and their representatives are subject to electronic and pat searches.
  • Department personnel will search all briefcases, packages, etc. for contraband prior to entering the facility.
