COSSUP
Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant and Substance Use Program (COSSUP)
Our Mission
Funded through the Bureau of Justice Administration (BJA), the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) provides linkages to services and support to those who have struggled and continue to struggle with substance use. COSSUP provides support to residents of Hudson County through the following initiatives:
- Community Navigator Program
- Overdose Fatality Review Team (OFRT)
- STARS Movile Outreach Vehicle
Community Navigator Program
The Community Navigator Program utilizes the skillset of a navigator to provide light case management in the form of linkages and referrals to treatment and support programs to help the Hudson County resident achieve and maintain recovery from substances. Those who seek assistance may contact the COSSUP Administrator at 201-369-5280 ext. 4254.
Overdose Fatality Review Team (OFRT)
The Overdose Fatality Review Team is a meeting of system partners who have encountered a person who has died as a result of an overdose. Confidential case reviews are completed to help identify possible opportunities for earlier intervention.
STARS Mobile Outreach
The Supporting Treatment for Addiction, Recovery and Success (STARS) Mobile Outreach Vehicle is a partnership between the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. This project operates from a mobile outreach vehicle which will be located in a variety of locations throughout Hudson County and consists of a mobile outreach team that partners with other community agencies to offer support and services to those in need. The STARS Mobile Outreach Vehicle seeks to engage members of the community who are struggling with substance use challenges and would like support in seeking treatment, mental health services, or assistance with other needs associated with the challenges of substance use.
