Professional Visits
- All professional visitors must register on GTL website for visitation approval.
- Once you have registered, you must email Hudson County Visitation at Hudsoncountyvisitation@hcnj.us with your Bar number and the State of practice or occupational certifications (i.e. Interpreter Certification) for verification and approval.
- Attorneys and their representatives are permitted to meet their inmates clients from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week.
- Professionals must present valid credentials that can be cross-referenced with an American Bar Association publication, firm, or approved agency to confirm their status as a acceptable professional.
- Professional visitors must be dressed in appropriate attire (See Dress Code).
- Professionals may visit inmate clients solely for the purpose of conducting legal business.
- Professionals requesting any special consideration shall immediately be referred to the area supervisor.
- Electronic equipment of any kind, i.e., tape recorders, cameras, IPads, etc., must be approved in advance. Otherwise, such equipment will not be allowed during the visit.
- Professionals may not give an inmate any material without prior authorization.
- Visits between attorneys or their representative and inmate shall not be subject to auditory supervision, but department personnel may be positioned to maintain visual surveillance.
Search of Professionals
- Professional visitors are subject to electronic and pat searches.
- Department personnel will search all briefcases, packages, etc. for contraband prior to entering the facility.
Professional Video Visitation
It is recommended that all attorneys schedule on-site visitation to avoid any potential delays.
All other professionals must schedule on-site visits via GTL.
