Passaic River Greenway
The Hudson County Planning Board adopted the Passaic River Greenway Plan on April 18, 2023. The plan will serve as a guide to exploring and navigating the Passaic River waterfront. It details the full length of the Passaic River Greenway, a publicly assessable trail along the river. While portions of the trail currently exist and are served by a variety of amenities and connections, others face significant obstacles to completion. The Passaic River Greenway Plan describes and identifies current conditions, connections to nearby landmarks and destinations, short and long-term opportunities, as well as gaps and challenges to implementation. The intent of this plan is to inspire a greater connection with Passaic River and to envision the possibilities of expanding and enhancing the Greenway. Through a collaboration between local governments, non-profit organizations, private business, residents, and property owners, we can further protect, preserve and expand access to the waterfront for everyone.
